Track a DBS Application

Standard DBS and Enhanced DBS Online Tracking

If you have a Standard DBS or an Enhanced DBS Application being processed by the DBS, you can track it via the online DBS tracking service.

To track it's progress, click on the purple box below:

Note:  you will need :

1. DBS Application Form Reference number (10 digit number starting with either the letter "E" or an "F") 
2. Date of birth of the applicant

Note:  If you do not have your Form Reference number, please either:

1. contact your recruiting organisation/employer for a progress update or
2. you can track your application by telephoning the DBS on 03000 200 190, choose option 2 then option 1 to speak to a DBS representative (note the DBS will only speak to the applicant)

Basic DBS - online Tracking

To track a Basic DBS application please follow the steps below:

1.  Go to https://disclosure.homeoffice.gov.uk/HomeOfficeExternalPortal/faces/oracle/webcenter/portalapp/pages/UnauthHomePage.jspx?  
2.  From the menu on the left click on “Track a DBS application”
3.  Enter the Basic DBS application details to track its progress.  

Note:  You will need:

- Application Reference Number: 11 digit DBS application number starting with the letter “E” 

- Applicant’s DOB

- Applicant’s surname

Alternatively the applicant can call the DBS on 03000 200 190 to track their application choose option 2 then option 1 to speak to a DBS representative (the DBS will only speak to the applicant).

Basic Disclosure Scotland application tracking

To track a Basic Scotland application please follow the steps below:

1.  Go to https://beta.tracker.disclosure.scot/
2.  Enter the application reference number (also known as “Disclosure Scotland Barcode”)

Alternatively the applicant can call Disclosure Scotland on 03000 2000 40 to track their application
