PVG Applications: Step 2 The Applicant
From 14th November 2024, all applicants must complete their section of the PVG application using a ScotAccount.
A Scot Account is a digital platform created by the Scottish Government. A ScotAccount allows people to securely sign in to online public services like Disclosure Scotland.
Within 1 working day of submitting your PVG Approval Form, the applicant will receive an email from Disclosure Scotland containing a unique web link to their PVG application form.
First, the applicant will be prompted to sign in to their ScotAccount. If they don’t have a ScotAccount they’ll be prompted to create one.
To create a ScotAccount the applicant will need the following:
- A phone, tablet or computer with a camera - so they can take a selfie.
- Their phone number.
- Their email address.
- A valid Passport, UK driving licence or BRP (Biometric residence Permit). Note: They can still create a ScotAccount even if they don’t have any of these ID documents. Disclosure Scotland will guide them through the process.
Once logged in to their ScotAccount, they will be taken to their section of the online PVG application form.
To complete their section of the online PVG application form, they will need to enter:
- Full current name (including any middle names)
- Any other names they have used since birth
- DOB and place of birth
- Gender
- Mother’s maiden name (i.e.: their mother’s surname at birth)
- All addresses they have lived at in the last 5 years (even if non-UK)
- NI Number
- Passport Number if they have a passport
- Driving Licence number if they have a di
- Regulatory Body membership number, if they have one
The PVG application will then move to Step 3: Processing:
Once the applicant has completed their section of the PVG application form, Disclosure Scotland will start to process their PVG application
